Orthotic reviews
After any orthotic device has been manufactured and fitted, the follow up review is an essential part of our orthotic provision. At Leeds Orthotics, we are committed to doing everything we can to ensure that you get the most from your orthotic device.
The review is an exciting appointment for many of our clients that allows them to look back and reflect on the progress they have made since coming in for their initial assessment. There is no additional cost for the review, as it is part of our comprehensive orthotic provision.
For some of our clients, treatment is ongoing. Children, patients who are experiencing changes to their body such as weight loss or those with a need for longer term or closely managed orthotic provision may have a number of additional follow up appointments arranged. Any of our patients may arrange for additional review sessions if they wish, although this is not usually necessary.
What to expect
Upon arriving at your review, you will be asked by your orthotist how you have been getting on with your device. They will discuss any other treatment that you have been receiving such as physiotherapy and determine how effective it has been and you will be given practical advice about maximising the effectiveness of your orthotic device. Your orthotist will assess if there are any alterations or tweaks that could be made to the device to compensate for any progress that has been made towards your desired end result. Appropriate goals can be discussed and you can review the progress that you have made since your initial consultation with your orthotist. The review is often the part of the service at Leeds Orthotics that patients find most rewarding.
